Production Turnaround Time

Q: What is Crush Printing's standard turnaround time?

A: Production turnaround time varies by product, ranging from 5-10 business days. Turnaround time does not begin upon placement of your order. Rather, turnaround time for your print job begins once your order has been placed and your print-ready files have been uploaded, attached, and approved. If you ordered a proof, your turnaround begins when we receive approval for your proof.

Please note that Crush Printing production facility is opened Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time. We are closed on the weekends and holidays. We are not in production during our two-week plant shutdown in late December. As a result, these days are not considered when calculating turnaround time.

In addition, turnaround time does not include shipping time, and you should allow additional business days for delivery based on the shipping method you select.

Recycled Paper

Q: Do you use recycled paper?

A: Given supply chain difficulties we cannot ensure paper used will be recycled. We use recycled paper and mixed recycled paper when available.

Submitting Files

Q: Are my files ready to be uploaded?

A: Files must be submitted in a proper file format and at the correct size, including bleeds. Design templates are available to ensure proper setup of your art files. Please check your files for image resolution, bleeds, and that fonts/text is within the safe margins. Follow our checklist to guarantee your file is ready to be uploaded.

  • File Formats - Any files you plan to use must be saved and submitted in one of the following formats: PDF, EPS, PNG, JPG, or TIFF.
  • Resolution - Resolution refers to the number of dots per inch (dpi), or the amount of detail the image has. Documents are recommended to be 300 dpi at 100% of the output size and must be a minimum of 250 dpi.
  • Bleeds - The very edges of the document are called the bleed area. To prevent an unwanted white border at the edge of your document, be sure to extend any background colors or design elements to the edge.
  • Safe Margins - The safe margins are borders that are inside the place where the cut will take place. Please remember to keep all text at least .188" from the edge to ensure that it is not trimmed off.
  • Illegal images: Crush Printing is unable to print sexually or violently explicit materials.

Q: What formula is best for large solid areas of black printing?

A: When a large area of solid black ink overprints across different colors, there will be a noticeable change in the density of black. Eliminate this by creating a process black formula of Cyan 60%, Magenta 30%, Yellow 10%, and Black 100%. Use this formula for large black areas with full-color printing.
